Shall we start with videos this month?  The first is a video of Daniel playing soccer.  The YouTube version:

For a much better (and much larger) video, try this.

Now, onto Camille.  She did a "tissu" performance recently at her acrobatic school as a fundraiser (Thanks,
Poppa Ron and Carolyne, for your generous donations).

The high quality version is here.

Now, some still photos:

Camille and Daniel and I headed back to Massachusetts for the memorial service for my grandmother, Gertrude Folweiler, who
died at the age of 103.

Here she was, with the kids last year.

The memorial service was surprisingly well attended.  My stepfather, Dave, and stepbrother Eric are in the front row.

Mom got up and told everyone about how Nana rearranged her kitchen without permission.  My words about Nana are here.

Sara had a soft spot for Nana.

Our cousin Kris spent many a holiday with Nana.

Daniel and Camille play bumper pool in the retirement home after the memorial service with cousins Emma and Neva.

Lunch at mom's condo with my Aunt Janet (Nana's only surviving child after my dad died 8 years ago), my sister Robin, and her son Nico.

My niece Emma showed me her butterfly cage, complete with butterfly.

Cousins playing in the backyard of my sister Sara's house.

While in Massachusetts, Daniel feeds a goat.

Robin's birthday cake, presented by my brother-in-law Andy.

Camille and Daniel pick up live lobsters while their cousin Emma looks on.

On a sleepy weekend day, Daniel plays pirate with the other kids and finds some real treasure.

Everyone dresses up.

Nico plays with cars, while Robin helps.

Kids' dinner.

Camille shows her croquet style, all power and no control, while Kris waits his turn.  Autumn (the dog) waits to retrieve the ball.

Camille poses on the first day of second grade.

Daniel poses on the first day of kindergarten.  Note the slight look of apprehension.

With mom on the first day of school.

Camille resented having to be photographed with her brother holding hands.

Molly holds Moira, our friends' young child.

Sailing on Keith's Laser.

We had a nice afternoon sailing on Lake Washington on Keith's Laser.  Daniel enjoyed it so much, he went sailing with Keith.

On the last "Daddy Day" of the summer (my day off - Thursday), Camille and Daniel chose to ride on these funny amphibious vehicles
on a tour of Seattle, complete with a dip in Salmon Bay.

While cruising in Salmon Bay at 1.5 knots, Daniel takes the seat of honor and tells a corny joke.  "What did the cookie say?"
"I'm feeling crumby."

A few leftovers on the roll from the summer sailing trip.

Daniel's playing soccer this fall on the "Purple Pirates".
