Dan beams at his graduation ceremony from pre-school. It's off to kindergarten this fall.
On a hot summer day earlier in July, I took the kids for a
hike up Denny Creek in the Cascades
to the "slippery rocks".
After the hike, we drove up to Snoqualmie Pass and found a
patch of
unmelted snow. Camille lobs a snowball at me.
We went camping with the Atwills at Skamokowa,
WA, a small town on the Columbia river approximately
30 miles from the coast. We had a site on the river and watched many
vessels pass by, including this
sternwheeler.
Roasting marshmallows is now de-rigueur on camping trips.
Camille actually ate some on this trip.
Camille and Daniel show off their bouquets near the end of the trip.
Lucy and Camille ham it up at 321 Bounce. It was a special treat for Lucy's 8th birthday.
Afterwards, they went to a demonstration farm in Bellevue.

Now, on to the video section. We offered to send Camille to
a couple of day camps.
She decided to attend "circus camp" to further her goal of being part
of SANCA's
youth performance company. She has to be 8 years old and have certain
"portable"
circus skills - juggling, walking on a ball, unicycle etc. (it's not easy to set
up a
trapeze off site). The kids got a chance to perform for the parents on the last day and
they
each
picked three events. Naturally, Camille gravitated to aerial events. She blew
me away with
her skills. Her mother gets more gray hair every time she watches
(Molly, in her work as a hospital social worker has seen her fair share of
spinal injuries).
