Camille's Second Halloween
back to the main photo page
For Halloween this year (2001), we introduced Camille to the idea of wearing
a goofy costume and grubbing for candy. She didn't understand. Despite loving
the Teletubbies (see below), she didn't want any part of putting on the swell
"Laa-Laa" costume I bought her.

"I love Tinky Winky." (For those of you out of the loop, Tinky Winky
wears a purse, is purple, acts effeminate, and has an upside down triangle
on his head. Thus, Jerry Falwell pronounced him gay and a threat to all
wanna-be straight toddlers in America.) Despite having been warned
that she might turn out gay if she keeps it up, she insists on continuing
to play with Tinky Winky, dressing him up, changing his diaper, and
putting him "night-night".

Finally, after much cajoling and watching kids come to our door to grub
for sugar-coated snacks, she agreed to put on the hood of the costume.
She refused to wear the body of the costume.

Despite the look of horror on her face, Camille was very interested
in having carved pumpkins in front of the house.
