Camille is experimenting with "intensive"
gardening. Packing as many seeds as possible into the smallest space, her
crops are doing
much better than ours. Tubsy and Daniel provide moral support.
Daniel made the leap from training wheels to riding as part of
Bicycle Week at school. I was there to witness the
transformation.
Daniel was so proud of himself. A "shaky cam" video taken on
Dad's Razr is here. Or here's the YouTube version:
A throw back to the skirt, er...I mean kilt,
wearing days. Dan puts on Camille's new clothes.
A family photo after a family bike ride at Sunset Park.
Camille and Sammy ham it up. Camille was invited to play
on a spring soccer team with Sammy. Camille puts a lot of energy into
playing.
Note the flushed face.
Sammy, Louisa, and Camille with Sammy's mom, Tammy - the coach.
Dad gives his first haircut in the back yard.
Triple swing - Dan's best friend Finn is on the right.
On Memorial Day weekend, we walked on to the Bremerton ferry
for a day trip. Bremerton is a decaying naval shipyard city
undergoing a
revitalization. They have free
wi-fi in downtown, a brand new marina, and lots of fountains.
One of the best parks (of any kind) that I've ever seen is the
new Harborside
Fountain Park next to the ferry dock. It's well
landscaped and features five fountains that the kids can play in. They
spout at random intervals and are suggestive (depending
on your perspective) of an armada of submarines or the dorsal fins of whales.
The park features a fair number of highly polished rocks that can be used for climbing, sliding, etc.
The brand new marina is huge! Not many boats are moored
there yet. But the Tyee Yacht Club of Seattle had a bunch of beer ...I mean civilized yachters tied up for the weekend.

Camille tries out another fountain that I think is suggestive of salmon jumping upstream.
Here's a video of Camille's latest aerial activity. She performed a trapeze routine to music (for the first time). It went off brilliantly.
