Conditions We Treat

Whiplash. At Folweiler Chiropractic, we have treated hundreds of people who have been injured in car accidents. Studies demonstrate that chiropractic care is very effective in treating whiplash injuries. Dr. Folweiler has extensive post-graduate training in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of whiplash injuries. He is frequently asked by attorneys and judges to provide expert opinions, reports, and credible testimony on injuries sustained in car accidents.

Neck and Shoulder Pain and Tension. Modern life offers many conveniences, but sadly it also commonly creates neck pain. Sitting in front of a computer, sleeping awkwardly, and working overhead can all cause neck pain. Common causes of neck pain include loss of spinal joint motion and overly tight spinal muscles. Fortunately, chiropractic care can be very effective in treating neck pain.

Headaches. Most headaches stem from problems in the neck. Dr. Folweiler can perform tests to determine the source of your headaches. Once the source is identified, he can recommend a treatment plan that will not only help alleviate your pain, but treat the source of the pain.

Back Pain. Back pain remains the most common reason people seek chiropractic care, for good reason. Chiropractic care, especially when combined with exercise, has been shown to provide the fastest relief and greatest patient satisfaction when compared with other forms of treatment. Chiropractic care seeks to address the cause of your back pain, not merely cover up the symptoms with a drug.

Pinched Nerve. Numbness, tingling, and pain in an arm or leg can be the sign of an irritated or “pinched” nerve. Nerve problems that affect your arms and legs are commonly caused by bulging spinal disks and/or overly tight spinal muscles. Dr. Folweiler can perform a thorough examination, including neurological testing to determine the cause of your pinched nerve. Many conditions that cause arm and leg symptoms respond well to chiropractic care.

Sports Injuries. Pulled muscles, sprained ankles, elbow pain, and shoulder pain are commonly seen as a result of participating in sports. Dr. Folweiler has training and experience in treating many sports injuries. If pain is preventing you from enjoying what you love, let us see if we can help.

Bulging and Herniated Disks. Disk problems can result either from “wear and tear” or come from a single injury. Bulging and herniated disks frequently create very intense pain in the buttocks and leg (if the herniated disk is in your low back) or in the shoulder blade and arm (if the herniated disk is in your neck). They may be accompanied by numbness and tingling in the arm or leg. Chiropractic care is a safe and effective way to treat disk problems.

Plantar Fasciitis. Recently developed techniques that Dr. Folweiler uses have dramatically reduced the amount of time needed to heal from plantar fasciitis. Do you get a lot of heel pain, especially with the first step in the morning, or in the evenings? You may have plantar fasciitis. We can help.

Tennis Elbow. Tennis elbow, or lateral epicondylitis, can cause loss of grip strength and pain with sports and other activities. Fortunately, Dr. Folweiler uses the Graston Technique for a speedy recovery.
